Break The Rules With MiAdz Production Tips

  1. Putting your print message on a mobile outdoor board is nuts.  Pure and simple- its way too much copy.

  2. Thanks to our unique back-lit billboards, dark colors can make your message stand-out. Colors that really look good are Yellows, Reds, Greens.  Bright colors not only make a statement, they stand out and make your audience happy.

  3. Resist the urge to tell everything.  As a great client said to us, “Less is more in outdoor.”

  4. Simplicity is the single most important quality for a billboard.

  5. Any kind of fancy script is a definite “no-no” for billboards.  Keep the fonts bold.  People have less than Seven (8) seconds to read a billboard.
  6. Don’t be afraid to try mobile outdoor advertising.  The satisfaction rate is high and the recall rate is an astonishing 97%.

Sizing Your Image
MIADZ Advertising Vehicles feature 10’ x 6’ (120” x 72”) side windows and the rear window is 6’ x 6’ (72” x 72”)

Art needs to be submitted to the printer at exactly 10% of finished size:
Side Window: 12” x 7.2”
Rear Window: 7.2” x 7.2”

Resolution
Art supplied to the printer needs to be at 500 DPI at 10% so that when they increase the size to 100% the final art will be at 50 DPI.

Naming Your File
When you have completed your art, save the file as a .jpg at 500 dpi. Do not include the words "logo," "text" or "banner" in the name of the art file because these words can cause a conflict with our system. Your file name must be less than 22 characters with no spaces.

Convert Your File(s) to jpg. format
Our system accepts .jpg formats. If your image already exists in .jpg formats, it can be sized appropriately and uploaded. If your image exists in another file format, use an image editing program like Photoshop LE or PhotoDeluxe to convert the file into .jpg format by "Saving As" a .jpg file.  Simply renaming the file with .jpg will not convert your image into a .jpg  file format. Refer to your image editing software help for more information on converting image files into .jpg format.

JPEG (.jpg) - use this file format for photographs (color or b/w) and other full-color or gray-shade images. Most programs let you select different compression levels when you save an image as a .jpg. You will want to select level 9 or 10 or high unless you will be using the image on a very small banner. JPGs are always stored as either 24-bit color or 8-bit grayscale: for best results, do not set your scanner to fewer colors.

Check your Color Mode
We will print your image in CMYK mode, so if you can send us the file in CMYK mode, that is ideal. If your image is in another mode, such as RGB, indexed color, or grayscale mode, we recommend that you convert it to CMYK mode. When you make this conversion, a slight color shift will occur, and you may want to adjust your image accordingly. If you send us a file in any mode other than CMYK, we will perform the color shift, and this may adjust the look of your image.
